Joint survey  in order to identify tourist specific reasons to  visit touristic areas in the neighboring countries in the high season and off-season.

To take the best advantage of the opportunities provided by international tourism, data on the characteristics of visitors to cross-border region is essential. After all, this information willenable us to make the right choices for the marketing and branding of the destination.The survey targets visitors who stays in a commercial accommodation in cross border region covered by both districts (Mehedinti and Borski) for at least one night. Questions will cover a large number of topics related to their trip to region, such as their search and book behavior, reason to visit, activities they undertook, expenditure, how they rated their visit, and consumer profile.

 

Thematic seminar – synergies/conflicts in management and tourism

During 3 working days, in Romania we will organize a seminar a broader audience (local authorities, enterprises and tourism service providers from both Ro and SRB) on the topic synergies/conflicts in use of the touristic areas. The meeting will be attended by 50 participants (25 from RO and 25 from SRB).

Aim of seminar: to identify relations between different sectors/stakeholders.

Result: A list of identified areas with descriptions. The result will be used in developing the joint strategy for cross-border ecotourism.

 

Develop a blueprint for planning and designing a staged-authentic heritage tourist attraction

The present research is conducted to contribute to the knowledge base of decision makers who in the future may wish to consider planning and designing staged authentic heritage attractions.

The purpose of this largely qualitative study was to develop a blueprint for planning and designing a staged-authentic heritage tourist attraction for both cities (Drobeta and Kladovo).

 

Thematic seminar- blueprints in tourism

The activity designed to help develop a consistent and consensual approach to sustainable tourism takes place in Kladovo Serbia and involves 50 participants from both countries (RO-SRB) from a broad prospective audience which includes tourism planning and development managers; public and private sector administrators; tourism marketing professionals; travel agents and tour operators; media; employees of tourism agencies at  regional and local levels; researchers, consultants involved in tourism development; architects and land planners; bankers and other investors; and, educators building curricula for entry-level employees of tourism entities.

The aims of this participatory event is to develop a stakeholder forum in which entrepreneurs and other tourism related parties are actively involved in sustainable tourism developments.

From the many good ideas, current activities and potential new opportunities identified in the workshops of the seminar we will be able to assess synergies, share expertise and develop joint working across the entire cross-border region near Drobeta and Kladovo cities. It is intended that through this project mechanism will remain in place for future cooperation, management, action and excellence of sustainable tourism in the region.

Nettwork of cooperation in the field of tourism

This activity implies identification and dialogue with candidates to potentially join a network of cooperation in the field of tourism via direct contacts, questionnaires and membership negotiations

Establishing a joint cross-border tourism organization, creating sufficient financial resources, and increasing involvement of business interest groups and non-government organizations (NGOs) from both sides of the border are essential for the successful implementation of joint tourism marketing growth strategies.

 

CBC Audio Travel Guide development

This activity aims to create an CBC Audio Travel Guide in order to improve the sustainable use of natural resources and cultural heritage.

The Audio travel guide operates concurrently as a tourist guide for Romania and also as a tourist guide for Serbia. It provides information on each of the 100 tourist destinations (50 from Romania and 50 from Serbia) targeted in the actovity in an interactive, highly accessible way for tourists. The guide is available in three languages, Romanian, Serbia and English, and can be accessed in three ways depending on the preferences of each: by specialised device, by downloading an application from app store on mobile phones and by accessing the dedicated section of project web page.

 

CBC smart cities

The main mission of this activity is to collect and disseminate in an integrated way, the information that exists today in the cities, improving tourist information and citizens life. Therefore,  to develop a smart city. For the purpose of this activity we will use info-touch smart cities. The info-touch is an interactive urban solution that delivers all information that matters in the right place at the right time.

It is very innovative, user-friendly and a unique way to promote multiple activities and points of interest such as touristic, cultural, local commerce, public services among others. Furthermore, info-touch’s goal is to bring cities closer to people who live, work and travel in it.

Urban Outdoor equipment, Interactive information, available or available soon, in major cities and regions of the world, based on a business model of self-sustaining and ownership. The info-touch is an absolutely innovative product, appropriate to meet the current needs of any city and country in the world with a strong welfare demand and concern for comfort and quality of life for its inhabitants and its visitors alike. Available 24h a day, info-touch is a piece of urban furniture, elegant, with modern design and discreet, enabling it to become easily integrated into environments with predominantly contemporary architecture, green areas and historical, or monumental environments. It’s a large tablet that provides all the information needed by local residents and visitors.

The new integrated information system will have following facilities:

1 INFORMATION (Local News, Traffic Information, Warnings and Alerts) -Urban Information with universal access, that has a very careful treatment in order to deliver the best content that matters to people at micro local level.

2.CULTURE (Event sharing, Cultural agenda, Music, cinema, theatre)- info-touch has a specific section with the events happening in the city organized by categories (sports, cinema, theatre, music, etc.).

3.LOCAL COMMERCE (Where to Eat, Where to sleep, shops in the city)

  1. MOBILITY (Search Destinations, Find Transportation, Schedules, Prices) -info-touch provides a quick and effective answers by allowing users to search for the routes for any destination in city, as well as how much time it will take to arrive, or how much it will cost.

5.FUN (Social Engagement, Selfie Trend, IceBreaker) -info-touch makes a repositioning of the city changing it to a smarter and funnier place to live. It enables more interaction, It gives more information and increases a lot the engagement with people.

 

City views and scenic locations live cams

Video marketing has now become interactive through live streaming. It’s opening up an entirely new world of interactivity, and that’s something you should be taking advantage of.

Through this activity we set up a few outdoor cameras in the center of Drobeta and Kladovo, as well in some touristic attractions and historical/cultural sights, that tourists can view special events, as well as the day-to-day activity in our beautiful cities. We will bring to citizens all over the globe nice quality panoramic views of  both cities, so any person interested in visiting our region can see live from internet what can be visited, what are local attractions and how the citizens are spending their daily life in both cities (Drobeta and Kladovo).

 

Road tourism information indicators montage

Through this activity we plan to valorise touristic attractions already existent in both cities and to inform tourists about the correct road to reach them. We intend to install 100 road information indicators (50 in each city) in order to inform tourists about the correct road to existing tourist attractions: The medieval fortress of Severin, Water Tower, Th. Costescu Cultural Palacy, Traians bridge, etc.

 

Water screen multimedia presentation system installment on the Danube shore in Drobeta

The main aim of this activity is to provide appropriate infrastructure in order to promote Drobeta touristic potential and attract new visitors. We propose to develop a tourist attraction that will combine light, sound, water effects in order to achieve a tourist product that create a very large (almost 7 meters high and 20 width) projection about the common history in area. We will project sequences from historical movies with ancient medieval soldiers that protect the fortress of Severin, the fortress and his defense structures, sequences from ancient daily life of citizens of Severin. Also, as a promotion of the cross-border area between Mehedinti and Borski districts we will create a promotional clip combining most important touristic attractions that will be projected here.

The investments conclude the installment of: one large scale projector (20.000 lumens), 5 x water screen 2m set (screen, pump, basin, hose) + 4 x waterscreen connection set and an audio system. The videoprojection coming from a laptop placed in a box nearby are beamed directly onto the cascading wall of water, creating an impressively sized image 300” (760cm) across. Bright, colorful pictures are synchronized with sound from concealed loudspeakers, adding to a complete audiovisual experience.
